About Me/Sobre Mi

Guísela Gutierrez was born in Los Angeles, California and raised by Guatemalan and Mexican immigrant parents in the Westlake area.   Guisela is the Psychiatric Social Worker of Los Angeles School of Global Studies (LASGS) a co-located school within the Miguel Contreras Learning Complex in Los Angeles Unified School District. Guisela has been with LAUSD for 13 years. 7 years as Healthy Start Coordinator and 6 years as Psychiatric Social Worker serving LASGS for the last 2 years. Guisela earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology and pursued a higher education to earn a Master of Arts in Behavioral Sciences Negotiation and Conflict Management with an emphasis in Mediation from CSU Dominguez Hills. For the next 5 years she worked with the Asian Pacific American Dispute Resolution Center mediating community and civic cases and implemented Peer Mediation Programs within LAUSD schools that suffered riots and high suspension rates in the early 2000’s. Guisela completed her education in 2013 where she received a Masters of Social Work and a Pupil and Personnel Services Credential from the University of Southern California.  Guisela is a proud mother of two children and a proud product of the Los Angeles Unified School District.
