Spanish (taught by Mrs. Flores):

  • In Spanish I class students are finalizing their Mi Nombre Vinette and their final presentation.
  • In Spanish 2 class students are finalizing their final essay Advantages and Disadvantages of Social Media or Smart phones.
  • In Spanish 1 and 2 Non-Native students are preparing themselves to take their first semester Midterm.
 
 

Students Run LA (co-sponsored by Mr. Canek and Ms. O'Brien): Students ran their first half marathon this Sunday 12/15 at the Holiday Half Marathon in Pomona. Training continues as we prepare for the Los Angeles Marathon in March!

Journalism (taught by Ms. Hickman): Check out The Global Posts for all the latest in school and community news. Recent articles include stories about stocks, fights, and oil.

Mayan Language Club (sponsored by Mr. Canek): In October, the Nimalaj Be’ - Mayan Language Club - installed its annual altar for Dia de Los Muertos. The altar was designed to raise awareness about the armed conflict and genocide of indigenous people in Guatemala during the 1980’s.  On December 14th and 15th, Josephina attended a conference of indigenous language interpreters to learn more about career opportunities in that field.
