whose broad stripes welcome to the 2020 Los Angeles Global Studies spiritual graduation my name is Kimberly savedra I am the senior class president and I'll be the master ceremony for this graduation it has been a long four years but we are good today ready to move on Into the Night chapter in our life of gratitude to the following people who are teachers who took the time to share the knowledge with us for having the patience to repeat the information when we weren't paying attention but providing office hours at her school even though they were tired but especially for seeing potential when we couldn't see it and I felt toys family and parents for supporting us for the past thirteen years of our education we know we can be a pain at times. You stood Fireside you were there security complaints how are they went help us with our homework have you had food at the table these aren't even half of the things you did for us to support our journey advisory teacher you still Fireside encourage us to join Club Sport and a sentence but not only that you helped us by providing us with safe place for us to talk about the challenges we were facing to help us with our homework or to hear a complaint about school we thank you lacking a counselor thank you for keeping us on track to get to this day for providing us opportunities and for being a support system we all started high school but we are losing as a dog some of us will be going to college right away While others are going straight into the workforce but we all have our own path no matter what we do we will be facing challenges with your head held up high these past four years were filled with memories created by simply Towing the cars and sending the vent or hanging out with friends these memories were created when least expected them to even though we are all different people live different life you would cherish these moments as a send you the school of global studies graduation for the cast of 2020 furniture deals are amazing counselor Miss Diane contact person who pushes though she cares about and try to provide them with opportunities so they could excel in life if it wasn't for her and her pushing and seeing my potential I would thank you Miss contact from the bottom of my heart class of 2028 year all challenges challenges that help build strength determination courage and perseverance and evening broke however it's hard some of you sore While others Hang On by their fingertips but today made you are the class of 2020 congratulations of 2020 mini of you approach challenges differently to highlight a few some of you pursue it with spray and vigor and take and has a deal to take every opportunity available Rebecca you are strong and capable never forget that some take the challenges with determination and Power and never letting the world get them down last week I can't wait to see how you change the world don't take on challenges with that's you Leslie some pecan challenge by hard work and they look to get back to future future Generations Tanya and Kimberly you are the educators of the future Nathan you have taken this challenging semester at the prison to yourself that you are a global ready for college I remember you as an introverted freshman and you have grown into a confident young man ready for the challenges of life John Gomes what's the temperature to challenge yourself and to take your own path I admire your desire to serve in the Marines you took that from your classmates about wanting to be a nurse but you stayed strong you can be whatever you want others just persevered through all their challenges they face throughout High School Mary from day one you have worked full-time and showed up everyday to school you continue education and you kept movie today your high-school graduate congratulations you was even found the time to help others to Larry Gonzalez and Larry you start it slow but you have finished strong that is why LAUSD has decided to give you that perseverance award congratulations you have worked through a very child this stupid like so many others asked me what do I need for a diploma that's what he want he wants the diploma I said you need to bring me as the in geometry consistently on Edgenuity he got to see what I hope Jose learn and so many others discover is that they are capable of so much more than they know Summer Challenge to keep moving when they get knocked down both emotionally and physically whether on offense or defense celebrated hard and plant Bambi and you inspire hope so class of 2020 I leave you with this as you go into the world of college or military or the work worth it's a quote from Ariana Every Chain is a challenge to become who you are congratulations class of 2020 this year first grade school we have for valedictorian students are tied for the top ranking at our school it is my privilege to introduce Lizette Castillo good morning in class of 2020 NBC speech is to think all of you who have to help me grow over the past four years first of all I want to thank God for giving me the strength through High School thank you to the staff teachers and Friends of LAX mr. Lu you believe in me since the first day I walked into your class slots for a thank you for those thoughts of consolation and as by which I will take with me how much you care about me through these past years through the lasgs mentor program I've met my mentor Nina baumler Madrina because my parents could not remember why they meant request and I love how it sounds so I went along with it thank you for the support time and guidance you have brought into my life last but not least thank you to my parents and family or racing me Mexican for teaching me what school does not teach from how to tie a shoe short as well as being honest and resilient always caring and giving me the best of themselves I don't know man. Importante gracias mi familia Claremont McKenna campus I waited for years for these graduation to happen but I never imagined it was going to be this way this Global pandemic which carry a way or of senior year 20/20 we wanted an unforgettable and unique graduation but not too much to be honest pictures of gold imagine myself or see if my as a future valedictorian I just work hard dedicate and sacrifice young friend hubby forgive the mess of myself during the week I said Ikeda most of my time to school starting complaining assignment and homework are you spend my weekend working as a server in a Mexican NBC-2 responsibilities had a purpose in my life my job told me to be tolerant with others and recognize the type of job I don't want to have my whole life don't get me wrong he's an honest job and I learned a lot from him but if I have the opportunity to choose a job that I like I'm willing to take it education offer me that opportunity so today I remind you the class of 2022 be dedicated make the sacrifice you need to be successful and work hard because it will pay off tomorrow thank you with great admiration here hello, I have a tiny tiny family friend teachers and everyone who is here supporting all of us graduates thank you for being supportive Community my name is Lady cruise and I am a student president and your 2020 valedictorian I am honored to be here I know that this pandemic was unexpected and we missed on many events the semester but in reality the class we show that we are strong and ready whoever come whatever had some weight we have had multiple challenges this year from trying to memorize the Bill of Rights to pass a unit test for a political class thank you mr. Pena homes for more silver spring semester so the uprising we are seeing in the streets against police brutality but when we look back thanks to those challenges we are better versions of ourselves today we are more than aware of the rights we have as a human being we know we must continue and fight for a ride as members of our Global community we are soon to transition to adult life and it is how to be hard but remember the word heart and impossible are not the same our new journey is going to be like a roller coaster we will be scared when going down but asked if we will come back even stronger we will encounter many twists and turns in our lives sometimes feeling like we are going to fall or even see the world upside down but in the end we will get off the ride with last enjoy because we will know we experience in life full of emotions but we held on tight and enjoy that right I want to thank both of my parents be there fruit we have none. I love you both and appreciate how you made our home calm in the face of all challenges that impact our community I also want to thank everyone who supported me throughout because if it weren't for all of you I will have not become the person I am today a proud Chicana that a signal supposed to last class of 22 thank you for making me smile and forgetting me really full after the bonfire if we're all the awesome memories we had together Sailor Moon by so fast they still can't believe there's a few minutes you no longer be considered a high school student I wish you all the best congratulations class of 2020 we did it seniors congratulations on reaching this important Milestone it has been an honor working with you all this year that you started so smoothly and then out of nowhere it seemed like we were bombarded by a sea of change and uncertainty truly we have faced many challenges together but it made all of the chaos I've been impressed by your resilience camaraderie strength the sun is now Rising on a new and exciting chapter of your life and as you venture out on this new journey I want to leave you with three pieces of advice first care for the roots that connect you to your culture. and your community remember who you are and where you come from because there is power in that kind of groundedness 2nd stay open-minded and fiercely critical question your assumptions learn to empathize with others and always assess The credibility of your sources never doubt that you have the knowledge power and the right to transfer my world the future is truly yours congratulations on all of your accomplishments and I wish you the best in all of your future endeavors and remember that we are always here to support you yourcloset1 the last four years I've gone to watch becoming Define young adult you become I've also now you along the way and ask you to always think critically and always ask the tough questions as you move forward with your life never stop asking why never stop asking the tough questions as you know you can't always plan for everything but always plan for your success and if you should falter and find yourself in times of need. You always have a support network here with abundance of Honor here Rebecca Leon class of 2020 journey I wish I can say that I'm happy to finally say we did it we sacrifice and worked very hard to get to this point but instead 4 years of Our Lives led to almost 4 months in our home I understand that there are other things such as our health and safety that we should be worrying about what we work hard for this day we dream I'm celebrating the end of this chapter by walking across the stage but what can I say besides all the odds we still managed to graduate congratulations there will be other happy celebrations for us in the future I'm so thankful to be honoured as a valedictorian because even though we're in the middle of the world pandemic in a systematic Rachel fight for justice coronavirus will let me forget how hard are the field is pride my transcript prove I'm a student who has done well but my hope is to show the person behind the great the young woman who is proud of her work and fiercely proud of the person she had made herself to be a person who seeks every opportunity to improve herself and continues to stay positive and self-motivated even though times are time for RJ Grecian to look back and reflect and be the change that we want to see in our future I'm very proud to say that I will be attending Brandeis University in Massachusetts this fall majoring in neuroscience and an environmental study I want to thank every single person who has encouraged and supported me through this journey the teachers and staff my foster mom my family and my friends for your for your journey from internships to work permits to check your academic progress she has helped you build your academic and Professional Network thank you Diane the parents and Guardians of the students of the class of 2020 you were there for you offered your love unconditionally you provided the environment for our students to feel successful and confident in the classroom status achievements our school uses the pathway of design media and social change to provide a framework for our students to use their critical thinking skills to build awareness around issues of Injustice question what problems do you want to solve in the this may seem like a tall order but I know that all of you can and will make your voice as her and continue to advocate for those who have no voice in our society I want you to remember the various networks that help support you in your success especially when things get tough outside of these four walls whether it's calling your parents were encouragement for chatting with your friends to assure yourself you're moving in the right direction or tapping into your Global Studies Network whenever you need some additional supports use your networks to create your C testicle path I want you to know that our doors remain open for you I will end you will forever be part of the global studies family please remember to always keep in touch
