Course Description

Spanish  Level 1 Course Description

The emphasis of this course is on providing the student with basic communicative skills in listening, reading, speaking, and writing through elementary literature, art, history, current events, and culture. Students will build on Spanish language vocabulary, written and conversational repertoire.

 

Spanish Level 2 Course Description

The emphasis of this course is to provide students with a smooth transition from the first level to the second level of Spanish while continuing to develop the 3 communication modes: Interpersonal, interpretive, and presentational skills.  Students will continue to learn about the cultural aspects of the Spanish speaking world.  Instruction is focused on expanding communicative structures of grammar and conversation. Supplementary materials are introduced to enhance language use. It is expected for students to communicate with their instructor and other peers in Spanish to the best of their ability.
