How money smart are you? Most adults are not. This course is specifically designed for Global Studies students to understand the importance of the financial world, including managing money wisely. A major part of the course will be participation in the Stock Market Game (SMG), a nation-wide investment contest. Through SMG, not only will you learn about investing, but you will also gain insight into our capitalist economic system. Money does make the world go round and the more you know about how the system works, the more empowered you will be to make both personal change and social change. Other areas of study include avoiding financial pitfalls, budgeting, banking, consumer credit, and taxes. Soon you will be teaching the adults in your life about financial literacy.
