A Midsummer Night's Dream

A MIDSUMMER NIGHT’S DREAM

By Urizar Zapete

There is no such thing as love at first sight. Except when magic is involved.

A Midsummer Night’s Dream is a comedy by William Shakespeare.  Mr. Molstad’s Theater Class will be performing the play on Friday, May 17th, during 4th block. The play is being presented in English and Español.

This play has many characters, such as lovers, fairies, workers, kings, queens, and even a worker who gets changed into a donkey (Kevin Linares).

Most actors seem to be enjoying themselves. One actor, Lizet Castillo, said, “my favorite part is when Demetrius (Javier Rios-Galindo) and Lysander (John Gomez) beg me to be with them.”

Some people don’t respect the work that needs to be done to put on a play. When that happens, you can lose your job as an actor, as two students did in this play. Lines (what the actors say) and blocking (where the actors move) need to be memorized, and everyone has to practice doing the scenes many times, trying new things and taking risks, to make the play fun and entertaining to watch.
